Removalists Geelong
Barwon Heads is the quieter, smaller twin to Ocean Grove across the river bridge — a village that’s kept its character even as the rest of the Bellarine has grown up around it. That character shows up in the moves too: heritage cottages with raised verandahs and established gardens sit alongside newer homes near the golf courses, and both need a different approach to a standard suburban job.
Quick answer
MS Express covers Barwon Heads and the rest of the Bellarine Peninsula — from heritage cottages near the river and bridge to newer homes further out. Fully insured, fixed written quotes, and we’re based just up the road in Armstrong Creek.
Moving in Barwon Heads
Barwon Heads sits at the mouth of the Barwon River, about 20km south-east of Geelong, separated from its twin town Ocean Grove by the river and connected by the Barwon Heads Bridge. It’s a much smaller town — a permanent population in the low thousands compared to Ocean Grove’s tens of thousands — and it shows in the pace: boutique shops, a village-style town centre, and streets that have largely resisted the kind of large-scale redevelopment seen elsewhere on the peninsula.
That heritage character is exactly what makes some Barwon Heads moves a bit different:
- Older, established homes near the town centre and river. Raised cottages, verandahs, narrower original streets, and mature gardens that can make truck positioning and long carries part of the job.
- Homes near the golf courses and newer pockets. Barwon Heads Golf Club and Thirteenth Beach Golf Links sit close to some of the newer, larger homes in town — generally easier access, but often bigger jobs.
- Seasonal traffic. As a well-known holiday town, summer and long weekends bring more visitors and tighter parking — worth flagging if your move falls in peak season.

What we move
Full house removals, unit and townhouse moves, and furniture-only jobs. Every job gets blankets, straps and trolleys as standard, with disassembly and reassembly of larger furniture handled at both ends.

Frequently asked questions
Can you handle heritage homes with narrow access or delicate features?
Yes — Barwon Heads has plenty of older homes with narrow original access, raised verandahs, or established gardens close to the house. Tell us about the layout when you book so we bring the right crew and equipment.
Do you move furniture only, not just full house moves?
Yes — single items or a full load, we quote it directly based on what you need moved.
Is it harder to book a move in Barwon Heads over summer?
Peak holiday season brings more visitors and tighter street parking in the town centre. It’s still very manageable — just worth booking a little earlier and flagging the timing when you get your quote.
How far is Barwon Heads from your depot?
We’re based in Armstrong Creek, around 15-20 minutes away — one of our closest and most regular service areas.
Do you move people between Barwon Heads and Ocean Grove?
Regularly — it’s a short move across the bridge, and one of the most common local jobs we do on the Bellarine.
